Berghaus and Polartec team up for new Lawers fleece

British gear expert Berghaus is adding a new fleece jacket to its winter collection with the Lawers. Pairing Polertac fabric with Berghaus’ own grid fleece, this jacketis looks perfect for all-year cold and wet weather.

The Lawers uses the Polartec Thermal Pro fleece fabric. Its thickness makes it one of the warmest fabrics in Polartec’s range. The Thermal Pro is also treated with a water repellent, is quick to dry and has good breathability. To make this jacket a more versatile fleece, Berghaus used their own AT Optic grid fleece fabric beneath the arms, around the neck and down the sides. The idea is to use this thinner fleece to improve ventilation in those specific areas.

In terms of features, the Berghaus Lawers comes with to chest pockets and two hand-warmer pockets and drawcord hem and collar adjustments. At 620g it is a heavy fleece and you might want to consider light down jacket if you are on the market for a light and warm insulation layer. RRP: £90. Head to Berghaus’ website for more info.
