Gear Startup Jöttnar expands range and distribution for FW15/16

Jöttnar is adding new styles to its small but very focused range of high-end technical products for the outdoors minded. The UK based brand has also released a new website to support this new collection.

It’s not often that we talk about startup on the field of outdoor gear manufacturing. But Jöttnar seems to fit the definition perfectly. Founded in 2013 by two former Royal Marines Commandos, Steve Howarth and Tommy Kelly, Jöttnar is a young company that wants to do things differently. Instead of loosing their essence in a huge collection they focused on a handful of keys pieces. The result is a range that can dress you up from baselayer to hard or soft shell, each piece oozing quality and refinement.

Before today, men could choose between 2 hardshells, 1 softshell, 2 down jackets, one salopette, one mid and one base layer. Women had only one down jacket and one mid layer. What they’ve just added are 4 new elements. For men, general purpose softshell pants, an ultralight Neoshell jacket and new pants based on the existing salopette, for women the Fenrir down jacket, adapted from the existing one for men.

The new Asmund hardshell, made from the lightest NeoShell is a 3 layer waterproof and breathable jacket with YKK Aquaguard zippers and helmet compatible hood.
