The Max Pump: a tiny air pump with superpowers

Crowdfunded through Indiegogo, the Max Pump is one of the smallest air pump you’ll find on the market.

Five students from the same university, and who share the same passion for the great outdoors, have come up with a brilliant idea that will help you inflate or deflate your inflatables in no time. Wether you’re going camping, to the seaside or on an adventure, you’ll probably need a pump to inflate a mattress, a boat or whatever object that needs air. In these situations, the Max Pump will come in handy and allow you to save time and effort.

This small air pump can replace any battery powered, hand-operated or vehicle operated pumps. You just have to screw its nozzle onto the thing you want to inflate. It doesn’t require any hand operation which means that you can sit and relax while the Max Pump does the work for you.

The good thing this with this pump is that it is also capable to deflate. Therefore, you won’t have to stand or sit on the thing you want to deflate to suck the air out. This is also interesting if you want to vacuum-pack your clothes to save space in your luggage.

When I say it’s small, The Max Pump is really tiny: it’s smaller than a soda can, so you can easily carry it in your bag and even in your pants pocket. It’s also ultralight and weights only 145 grams. But don’t be fooled by its size, because the Max Pump is a beast when it comes to inflate or deflate things. Its battery lasts for 90 minutes, and it takes 2 hours to get it fully charged.

You can get it for $19, and there are also different offers available online if you’re looking to buy more than one, or to get it with an inflatable mattress. At the moment, the air pump is available in three different colors: ivory white, space gray and orange.
