GoPro Hero4 specs leak, built-in display and 4K at 30fps

The story broke on Reddit yesterday with some leaked promotional materials detailing the new specifications of the next iteration of the famous action camera. Other sources came to coroborate the leaks and we now have all the details of the new GoPro.

Most notable features are the built-in touch display on the Hero4 Silver and 4K recording capabilities at 30fps for the Black edition. Although the current Hero3+ Black shoots 4K videos it does so at only 15fps. The Hero4 Black will increase frame rate at all resolutions with the leaked specs as follow: 4K at 30fps, 2.7K at 50fps, 1440p at 80fps, 1080p at 120fps, 960p at 120fps, and 720p at 120fps.

The Hero4 Silver will not have the 4K capabilities of its sister but will come with a built-in touch display on the back. A great feature for a camera that was previoulsy depending on a smartphone connection or optional screen backpack for content viewing.

There has been mentions of image stabilization as well as Bluetooth for both models and 12 megapixels stills at 30 frame per seconds. The size is reportedly the same as the Hero3+ making it compatible with previously developed accesories and mount. A leaked price list from a canadian retailer shows $CAD 449 for the Silver and $CAD 549 for the Black editions with the release date said to be October 8th, 2014.
