GoPro releases new Hero3 line of rugged cameras

GoPro have updated their offering with a new line of tough cameras for extreme sports junkies and outdoor enthusiasts. Better, smaller and cheaper, the three new models are features packed.

All three models, the White, Silver and Black Editions, are base on the same package and said to be lighter 25% and smaller 30% than previous Hero2. The Hero3 all have built in Wi-Fi, no need for a Wi-Fi addon like previous versions and can record in full HD, 1080p. The Black edition will also allow you to shoot in 2.7k and 4k resolution but at the expense of frame rate, dropping to 30fps and 12fps respectively.

Another difference is in the still captures, 5MP / 3 fps burst for the White Edition, 11MP / 10 fps Burst for the Silver and 12MP / 30 fps Burst for the more expensive Black Edition. For the later you will also find in the box a waterproof Wi-Fi remote to control up to 50 Wi-Fi-enabled GoPros in a 600 feet radius.

Prices start at $199 for the White to $299 for the Silver and finally $399 for the Black Edition, available right now from GoPro’s website.
