GORE-TEX® Active Shell Laminate for next year winter gear

GORE-TEX are the market leader in waterproof and breathable garment. Their tech is used many high end outdoor equipments, from jackets to shoes.

Announcement of improvements are of course always good news for performance athletes and this new Active Shell Laminate promised for next year looks pretty interesting.

GORE-TEX® Active Shell Laminate is a 3 layer construction with what is said to be a thinner and lighter GORE-TEX® membrane integrated to the inner textile layer plus a textile layer for the outer shell.

This new combination should make possible lighter clothe while keeping waterproofing and breathability to a maximum. Good news for the hardcore trail runners, speed climbers and mountain bikers around specially with the kind of weight we are talking about:  less than 280 grams for polyester based jackets and less than330 grams for nylon based jacket, both equipped of the new tech.
