Hagal wool windshell hoody wins gold at ISPO

New for fall 2014, from the Swedish brand Klättermusen, is the Hagal hoody. Mixing wool and wind resistant fabric in an award winning package.

A lot of the interesting stuff we see at ISPO comes from smaller brands that don’t have the global reach of the bigger players. It’s the case of Klättermusen, a Swedish brand of very high quality outdoor clothing. A lot of their gear is very unique in some ways but the Hagal hoody is what really stands out in their FW14/15 collection.

The Hagal uses a merino wool blend, 86% merino, 14% polyester paired with a softshell-type fabric Klättermusen call WindStrech. This creates a midlayer that’s warm and windproof but also made of sustainable materials. The fabrics are Chlorine, PFOA and fluorocarbon free.

The Hagal packs all the features to make it a great midlayer: fully adjustable hood, angled zip, thumb loops, two side pockets and a chest pocket. It’s a bit on the heavy side at 730g and has a steep RRP of 380€. And of course it received the Gold award from the jury at this year’s ISPO in Munich.
