Hanchor’s ‘revolutionary’ chalkbags looking for fundings

A week ago, when the story was sent to us, the guys at Hanchor were looking to fund on Kickstarter the production of two chalk bags they’ve been designing: the Hula and Kangaroo.

Now because we were really busy (read having fun outdoors somewhere) we’re only talking about it now, when it looks like they are at already 200% with 22 days remaining. That should tell you that this idea for a new sort of chalkbag is not only interesting to us but also to a lot of people.

The selling point of those two bags is simple, integrate a chalkball into the bag for easier chalkup and less spill.

The HULA, the bigger of the two has an integrate ring-style chackball that can be refilled from a circular zip on the outside of the bag. This means you can put your hand in and grab anywhere, you should get a good layer of chalk. The size makes it also well suited as a bouldering mini-bucket.

The Kangaroo on the other hand is designed with routes in mind. It is smaller and can be used in two ways. Either close the integrated chalk pouch and use it as a chalk sock, similar to a chalkball, or leave it open in standard chalk bag mode.

You have 22 days left to grab one on Kickstarter. Pledge $37 for a HULA or $34 for a Kangaroo, world-wide shipping included. A very attractive price for a great looking idea. I might just get both for myself to try them out. The bundle HULA + Kangaroo will set you back $65.
