Mammut preparing new Eiger Extreme range

We are starting to see the first products popping up for Autumn collections at all the big brands. If you’ve been following you’ll noticed one common tech in most high end collection: the new Gore-Tex Active Shell fabric.

Mammut has announced that it will also be using Gore’s latest innovation in a new collection named Eiger Extreme.

The Switzerland based company hasn’t given out much in terms of products yet for its new collection. One thing is certain though, Eiger Extreme will be the top of line and comes with one clear objective: to give the most functionalities to alpine challenges. Like their competitors, one of the key feature will be the use of the new Gore-Tex Active Shell technology, which will provide waterproof/breathable fabrics and keep the weight down to a minimum.

The other specific innovations for this new range is said to be a new zip design, attached directly to the fabric for added flexibility, better weight saving and no extra tape for waterproofing.

Last is a new garment developed with Polartec to create hybrid waterproof soft shells. No name has slipped out but we are pretty confident this is the Neo Shell technology we’ve been hearing about since January.

All this is getting us excited for autumn that’s for sure. Bring on the new awesome jackets!
