One of the latest addition to Montrail’s collection of performance trail running shoes, the Mountain Masochist Mid GTX is here to satisfy the serious trail runners.
The specs read like a wishlist and are a testimony to the passion those guys put in the making of their products.
Focusing on movement, the Mountain Masochist Mid GTX had to be lightweight of course and at 490g, it sounds like you will not feel them much when going uphill. The mid height design will keep you protected up to the ankle and the GORE-TEXT lining will keep you feet dry.
The mesh upper fabric, while not as resistant as leather or suede is the trade off for the super light build but the toe cap and various patch of stronger material should keep those shoes from wearing out too fast.
