Nikon jumps into the action camera market with the KeyMission 360

One of the leaders in photographic equipment, Nikon, announced at CES its plan to start a new line-up of rugged video and photography products. The first element of this line-up will be the KeyMission 360.

This new action camera will be able – like its name suggest – to record 360 video footage thanks to a two-lens/sensor set-up. With one lens on each side of the camera, the KeyMission 360 will be able to record 360 in 4k UHD as well as still images. A first in the action camera market.

The KeyMission 360 is also waterproof up to 100ft / 30m and shock and dust proof. Connectivity wise it has built-in Wi-Fi, NFC and Bluethooth. Last on the feature list is electronic Vibration Reduction which they say can be enabled in processing apps to improve quality of the video. Now the real question is, do we really need 360 videos and how much will the KeyMission 360 cost at launch this spring.
