ReVolt headlamp from Black Diamond now available

Announced last year for Spring 2013, the ReVolt headlamp by Utah-based equipment manufacturer Black Diamond is now available. This fully featured headlamp has more than one trick up its sleeve to keep the darkness at bay.

The main selling point of the ReVolt is its power source. It comes with rechargeable batteries that can be replaced by 3 standard AAA. So if the first ones run out it will always be possible to get some AAAs to keep the light going. It can be recharged using a standard micro-USB port which makes it compatible with most solar panels, car adapters, external batteries and anything that has a USB port with the cable provided.

The ReVolt can switch between 1 triplepower LED, 2 singlepower white LEDs and 2 singlepower red LED and has modes for full strength in proximity and distance modes, dimming, strobe, red night vision and lock mode for up to 110-lumen at max settings with alkaline batteries. The case is water resistant to IPX-4 standard (“Water splashing against the enclosure from any direction shall have no harmful effect”). The weight is announced at 3.4 oz / 96g.

Price 60$ / £45 on Black Diamond’s website.
