The New Inov-8 Mudclaw just got an upgrade

Invo-8 have just announced the release of the New MUDCLAW G 260 V2, promising to make their flagship muddy condition trailrunner tougher than ever.

I’ve got to say, I have a soft spot for the MUDCLAW, as it was my first ever Inov-8 shoe. Since then I’ve become a bit of a fanboy!

Now living in Spain, I don’t really have any personal need for the MUDCLAW, as there’s rarely any mud, but I have to give this a shoutout for any reader there still in damper climes.

Inov-8 MUDCLAW

Like the other shoes in the G-Series, the new MUDCLAW features a Graphene laced sole. The biggest issue with the original MUDCLAW in my experience was that the large but soft grips wore down very quickly if you used them on mixed trails that had lot of hard ground. Hopefully the supposed toughening with the graphene will have solved this problem.

The upgrade for the V2 Inov-8 MUDCLAW is a toughening of the upper, with a new micro-fibre rand material for extra durability and protection in the forefoot. I could certainly have done with this in mine – I put a hole through the upper of mine after their first proper use, trying to cut a timing chip off after completing the Mighty Deerstalker night run… Doh!
