Three Yosemite big walls in less than a day

The climbing sphere was shaken for the first time this spring when two climbers pulled off the challenge of going up three big walls in Yosemite in less then 24h.

Tommy Caldwell and Alex Honnold managed to free climb the south face of Mt. Watkins, Free Rider on El Capitan and the Regular Northwest Face on Half Dome in just 21h 15m. They left at 4.45pm on May 18 and finished at the top of Half Dome 2pm the next day after 77 pitches of 5.10 to 5.13a.

This is the first time this combination of big walls, called the Triple Crown, is climbed in less than 24h and it certainly shows and incredible achievement from the duo.
