Zeal Optics Transcend Goggle, GPS enabled

Zeal Optics Polarized Sunglasses

The new Zeal Optics spherical goggle are a good looking piece of kit that will protect your eyes like nothing else with their polarized and photo-chromic lens, wide vision angle and anti-fog system.

But that’s not what is ground breaking about them. They also have a GPS receiver built in, powered by a 7 hour battery. The GPS tech, provided by Recon Instruments, is coupled with a small screen in the bottom right corner of the goggle that can display all sorts of metrics. For examples the screen can show you your speed and altitude in real time, as well a stopwatch and a clock. But that’s just for now, soon Recon Instruments / Zeal Optics are planning to add new app to it, like the height of latest jump.

The Goggles can also be plugged into your computer through usb to download the recorded data, build Google Maps, etc…

And suddenly you wonder how you’ve managed before, right? Well we do as well. The Transcend GPS should be released on October 10th for an undisclosed price. More info on their website.
