Mammut’s new Magic GTX winter hiking boots

To prepare for this winter’s temperatures, although we are still well in summer, check out Mammut’s new hiking boots: the Magic GTX.

Warmth is the main feature of the Magic GTX, down to minus 20 degrees Celsius if the press release can be believed. I’m not sure if the ‘lightweight’ adjective applies here though. 1720g in Men’s 8.5. The boots feature a thick protective sole with Vibram Maton outsole and a 3-layers midsole construction. It is also strap-on crampon compatible for when you need to extra grip. Note that the Magic GTX are good for hiking and Via Ferratas but not for Ice Climbing. The asymmetric 3-zones lacing and Mammut’s Base Fit system should ensure great fit and reduce chances of blisters.

Mammut’s Magic GTX are available in men and women version in size from 6.5 to 13 and 4 to 9 respectively. Recommended retail prices is £220.
