Mammut adds new via-ferrata and hiking boots to collection

To complement an already comprehensive range of footwear, Mammut is adding three boots to its mountain collection. Via-ferrata addicts will be pleased as two of those have been design with this sport in mind.

First is the Alto High GTX, specially designed for via ferrata and multi-day hikes. It features a gripex IronGrip sole – flexible ribs and special lugs for extra grip and FeetMap system ensuring protection and comfort of each foot part. The upper is Nubuk leather with a Gore-tex lining for water resistance. 3 Zone Lacing and Memo Foam and neoprene gaiters for extra comfort. It should retail at around £175 and is available in men and women. Weight: 1.92Kg for a size 8.5 pair.

Next would be the Ridge High GTX. A clone of the Alto above but with velour leather upper, elastic Gore-tex tongue construction and 2 Zone Lacing. It’s a bit cheaper at £160 but also heavier, 1.24kg in size 8.5 (pair).

Last but not least is the T-Cirrus Mid GTX. A mid-cut, high-tech and lightweight Tec Hiking boot with a Mammut-developed gripex Iguana sole. Its Base Fit lacing system is said to transfer the force of the lacing to the sole and prevents the foot from slipping around inside the boot. It also uses a highly ‘breathable’ Gore-tex lining. RRP £135, 818g for the pair of size 8.5.
