Strongbody Apparel turns to Kickstarter for its Gastown Jacket

Strongbody Apparel has a new jacket called Gastown. The stylish waterproof and windproof jacket is debuting on Kickstarter. The project is already funded with 27 days to go.

Not enjoying wearing your hardshell in town but need the protection? There is definitely a space in the men’s activewear market for stylish pieces that can be worn either at the coffee shop or on the trail.

Strongbody Apparel was founded in 2012 to target this segment. The founders, Quincy and Meghan, launched their business with a $5,000 credit card. After 2 years of research they ran a very successful Kickstarter campaign to launch their first product line.

They are back now with a new campaign for the Gastown Jacket. For $99 CAD you can get the “Most versatile jacket. Ever.” The Gastown’s body is 100% waterproof and windproof. It is made up of 2 layers of light weight fabric, with an impenetrable membrane sandwiched in the middle. This stops wind and water in its tracks, while keeping the highest level of breathability. The size M should weight around 8oz / 225g which is pretty light for the specs.

“We’ve designed a jacket that is perfect for city wear – whether going to the office or out on the town, and performance wise, it will take you to the top of the mountain”

says Meghan Conyers, Creative Director and Co-Founder.

At the time of writing there are still 90 units at the early bird price of $99 CAD. Head to the Kickstarter campaign and make a pledge to support Canadian-made gear at an affordable price.
