Swedish magazine Sportfack names Haglöfs sustainability brand of the year

Consumers are increasingly concerned about their impact on the environment and the demand for sustainability made gear is growing rapidly. Just looking at the number of Bluesign certified products on the shelves compared to just a few years ago shows that the biggest brands are taking it seriously.Haglöfs was awarded at Swesport, the Swedish outdoor and sports trade show, the title of Sustainability Brand of the Year. The Swedish gear manufacturer has been committed to the environment for a long time now. They have put the bar very high for 2015 with their goals:

  • 50% of all Clothing products sold will be made from recycled material.
  • 80% of all Clothing products sold will be bluesign® products i.e. made from material approved by bluesign®.
  • 50% of all Hardware products sold will be made from bluesign®-approved and/or recycled material.
  • 40% of all Footwear products sold will be made from recycled materials.
