10 years of Inov-8 told by founder

Celebrating the 10th anniversary of the brand, Inov-8 founder Wayne Edy tells us the story of the brand, how he got started and what were the biggest challenges.

Everything dates back to 2003, when Wayne saw an opportunity in the footwear market to start a niche brand. Out of a coach house in his garden, north-east of England, Inov-8 was born. The first shoe, the iconic mudroc, weighted 290g and had a very aggressive outsole.

The very lightweight, the grip and the minimal design was a success and Inov-8 went from being sold out the back of Wayne’s van to have 80 different shoe models being sold in 60 countries.

Innovation has, and will remain, at the core of what we do.

We tested the award winning Trailroc model last year with the Trailroc 235 review and came away impressed. The minimalism and build quality of Inov-8 show throughout and it is still one of our favorite shoe. Happy birthday Inov-8, looking forward to see what the next 10 years will bring us.
