Christmas gift guide for the outdoorsy type

With the holiday season coming it is time again to scratch our heads in search of the great gift idea for our loved ones. We selected a few products here to help you out with those that enjoy the outdoor. Some are quite expensive, some are affordable, so browse around and get inspired.

As far as gadgets go, we really like a good outdoor watch. The Suunto Core is one of their most advanced models, featuring everything you really need. GoPro Hero3

Released recently and following the success of the two first versions, the Hero3 from GoPro is THE outdoor video camera. Full HD videos in a small package, with loads of accessories and mounts to be able to put it anywhere from a bike to a surfboard or a helmet. The new model also comes with built-in WiFi and can be controlled with a smartphone app or the dedicated remote. Starting at £199.99/$199.99

Thermos Bottle

Yes the classic Thermos bottle. The one that keeps hot water hot for a whole day. A steamy cup of tea in the middle of nowhere in winter feels good and the medium size Thermos bottle will keep enough water for around 6 cups of good feeling. They are also BPA free and pretty unbreakable. A great item for any cold adventure and will not break the bank on fire at £16/$20

Snow Peak HotLips Titanium 600 mug

If they like a bit of cooking and are the kind to cut their toothbrush in half to save weight then this Snow Peak cooking pot should be right on. At 3.2oz/90g, this lightweight titanium cooking pot is perfect to take on an multi-day adventure. It also comes with the HotLips which you can attach to the pot to drink directly from it. Rab MeCo baselayer

The blend of Merino wool and Cocona fibers, made from discarded coconut shells, offer a multitude of advantages. The Merino brings the odour resistance, softness and warm-when-wet properties while the Cocona makes it more durable and better at moisture management and drying. Karrimor Elite Alpiniste eVent Jacket

Released earlier this year, the Elite Alpiniste jacket from Karrimor is a great looking outdoor shell. With its eVent waterproof/breathable membrane it will keep you dry and shield you from the wind. The best thing about this jacket is its price, currently going for £99 (not distributed in the US as far as we know).
