Karrimor gets back in the technical outdoor jacket segment

The British outdoor manufacturer Karrimor announced yesterday the release of three technical jackets for spring summer 2012, after a seven years break from that particular range of products.

The flagship of those three new jackets is the Alpiniste, an eVent equipped multi-purpose outdoor jacket with active fit and a roll away helmet compatible hood. The 3 layers eVent waterproof fabric with Venting Technology™ should ensure this is a completely waterproof and highly breathable shell. It will come with two torso pockets and a napoleon chest pocket as well as 2 way YKK water-resistant zips. Announced weight is a lightweight 500g in size L. And if you are quick enough you can get one at an insane £99 instead of the recommended retail price of £199 on their website.

Next is the X Lite Helium, a lightweight and packable shell with Karrimor’s own Weathertite Extreme garment. It is very similar to the Alpiniste, with roll away helmet compatible hood, same pockets and zips and comes at 370g in men size L. And finally the Transition, an affordable water resistant and windproof jacket for all types of outdoor activities.

It’s good to see a brand such as Karrimor come back with high quality offerings like the Alpiniste jacket and we are hoping they will keep it up for autumn winter 2012.
