Mammut new Merlon GTX alpine boot released

New in Mammut’s range of alpine boots is the Merlon GTX, a tough shoe for demanding alpine climbing and via ferrata.

Featuring an asymmetric lacing, the Merlon GTX wraps around you foot and provide greater precision by placing the pressure on the big toe. Its Base Fit technology, which anchor the lacing at the sole helps the boot make one with your foot for a more bespoke fit. The upper is a mix of nudbuck, synthetic lather and Dropstop textile and adds an all-round rubber rand for protection. Grip is provided by Vibram’s Maton sole, with added climbing zone for those difficult passes. Inside you’ll find a Gore-Tex waterproof membrane, the Performance Comfort Footwear, to keep your feet dry from the outside water.

Price should be around £180, weight is given at 1432 g for size UK 8.5, available from Mammut’s website.
