Mammut’s Eigerjoch Light and Biwak Light with Polartec Alpha now available

En vogue new synthetic insulation from Polartec, the Alpha, is the product of choice for the two latest jackets from Mammut. The Eigerjoch Light and Biwak Light, winners of the Polartec® APEX Award 2013, are two puffy-style layers to keep you warm this winter.

We are looking, on paper, at a nice choice of fabrics. The outer shell is made of Pertex Quantum, one of the lightest face fabrics out there offering water and wind resistance. Sides and cuffs have been crafted in Polartec Powerstretch Pro for optimal breathability. The sleeves are constructed to allow full freedom of movement for climbing and the cuffs have thumb-hoops for easier layering. Another nice feature are the two inside pockets, always useful, in addition to a zipped chest pocket.

Weight wise you are looking at around 410g for the Eigerjoch (men) and 360g for the Biwak (women) available in size S to XXL for the former and XS to XL for the later. SRP is £220 but they can already be found for less than £200 on the web if you shop around.
